“If performance is your main priority, you can’t really go wrong with the BDP-LX58.” What Hi-Fi? Sound & Vision magazine, 5-star review
Sensational sound quality
Designed with an emphasis on audio, the Pioneer BDPLX58 is a beguiling music player. Connected to a suitable Pioneer AV receiver it delivers a smooth and natural sound, yet even with other brands, thanks to a high quality Sabre32 ES9011 DAC, it gives crystalline levels of resolution and sonic accuracy. The result is an ‘inky’ black backdrop against which the subtlest notes can clearly be heard.
Vibrant video with 4K upscaling
With 4K TVs now more affordable, finding a Blu-ray player that can make the most of them is well worth it. With its 4K 60p (HDMI 2.0) output and upscaling, the Pioneer BDPLX58 is perfect partner for your 4K TV. The high quality video circuits offer superb picture resolution and can be extensively tuned to optimise the video output for your particular display.
Universal compatibility
As well as Blu-ray, DVD and CDs, it also plays SACDs and DVD-Audio discs. These formats are capable of some of the highest quality audio possible and a vital part of many music collections. Just as important is the ability to play FLAC, ALAC, LPCM (WAV) and AIFF and multichannel files (FLAC, DSD, and WAV), right up to 192 kHz/24 bit resolution. A massive range of other formats is also supported including MKV and DivX HD, making the BDP-LX58 the only disc player you’ll ever need.
Comprehensive connectivity
Use the LAN connection or optional Wi-Fi dongle to connect to your home network. You’ve then access to the best of the web via apps such as YouTube and Picasa, or streamed content from your PC or media server via DLNA. And it’s all easy to control via Pioneer’s unique Apple/Android control app, iControl. Twin HDMI sockets are handy if you’re using twin screens or have an older, non-3D equipped AV receiver, while twin USB ports situated front and rear offer a wide range of connectivity options.
Battleship build quality
Weighing just under 10kg, the Pioneer BDP-LX58 is a true heavyweight. The ultra-rigid iron chassis is 1.6mm thick and further reinforced by a 3mm iron plate at the base. Such density all but eliminates vibrations, ensuring the delicate internal electronics can work at their best. High rigidity is also found in the quiet-running disc mechanism, meaning superior tracking and less reliance on error correction, ensuring a better sound.
A topflight performer in every respect, the Pioneer BDPLX58 is the connoisseurs’ choice of Blu-ray player.
